About Us

The Aquatic Centre is a 5 Star Dive Centre in Cyprus

acknowledged by PADI as providing the highest standards of education and professionalism. We are situated on the main seafront road on the edge of the tourist area of Limassol, with direct access to the beach.
Established since 1993

our knowledge of local dive sites and wealth of experience will ensure a comfortable, safe and enjoyable diving experience for all.
We are open all year round

with sea temperatures not dropping below 15 degrees, diving in Cyprus is a great option all throughout the year.

We offer recreational PADI courses, an array of PADI specialities and professional-level courses from Divemaster to Master Scuba Diver Trainer!

Prizing ourselves on our impeccable teaching standards and adhering to the strictest safety policies; you can guarantee a comprehensive and thorough educational experience during your Scuba Diving courses with us.

We offer local excursions from our spacious 42ft purpose-built dive boat and our 20ft rib, running frequent trips to the conveniently situated Limassol Wrecks and the marine reserve of Akrotiri!

For grander adventures we take one of our two customised dive trucks to excursions such as the famed Zenobia Shipwreck in Larnaca, the crystal-clear waters of Cape Greco and an array of other beautiful locations across Cyprus!

With air-conditioned classrooms, brand new and exceptionally maintained scuba equipment, a fully stocked retail shop and our own in-house gas blender and Mares technician; there is no reason to look elsewhere!

Meet the Team

Marcel’s passion for diving started back in 1993, when he did his OW in Sodwana Bay South Africa. Falling in love with the environment and for his love of the ocean, he was hooked from the word go.

Owning a freight logistics company and a freelancing bush safari company for many years, Marcel’s passion for the natural environment was guiding him in a different direction. In 2016, Marcel started with his Divemaster course and finished the next year with his PADI Instructor course in 2017. At the same time, he sold his house and moved with his family to Cyprus, where he bought and is a part owner of The Aquatic Centre (formerly Aloha Divers).

Marcel spends his time running the business, supporting the fantastic dive crew, skippering the boats, teaching and guiding. He loves meeting new people and making customers feel part of the dive centre!

Owen’s passion for the Ocean began in 2004 when he tried Scuba Diving for the first time in the Maldives. Hooked from his first breath, he went all through the motions completing his Open Water course in 2006 in Cyprus, continuing right up until Rescue. In 2014, Owen decided he wanted to make a career out of it and here began his life as a Divemaster which took him to Dubai, England and the waters of the Mediterranean Sea. With the intense satisfaction he gains from being able to spread his love for the ocean and share it with others; introducing them to a world beneath the surface, a world which changed his life!

In addition to being a dive instructor, Owen is also a savvy man with a toolkit! As a marine engineer and holding a BTEC in marine biology; be sure to ask Owen all your aquatic related queries!
